Phong Nha Caves is a site classified by the UNESCO since 2013. It is a complex of 14 grottoes situated in the mountains of Ke Bang National Park.
They have been used as a Buddhist sanctuary during the 9th and the 10th centuries by the Cham people.
Departure from Hue for 2 and half hours to Phong Nha Cave. On the way, you will stop to visit some of the most famous battle-field in Vietnam War, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, lying in the Demilitarized Zone of the Vietnam War. Have lunch at at local restaurant then get on the boat and cruise along the river to Phong Nha Cave. The deeper one penetrates, the more magical are the natural aspects of the caves. After 700m on the boat, a large dry passage appears and you can walk to discover the cave for 500m more. You will have a chance to explore the remain of Cham Altars and Inscriptions inside.
Return to Hue in the late afternoon. Arrival around 8pm.
