Day 1 – Bangkok – Asoke Valley
Lunch / Dinner
Your biking adventure will start by driving north for two hours to reach Bonya Lit Temple. There, you will get on your bike and start riding on a quiet country road. The road will be a mixture of dirt and asphalt with lots of potholes as the road winds and undulates through small dairies, tamarind orchards and even a sheep farm. After 6 km you’ll turn off onto a shaded gravel road that skirts a pond and will lead you to a dirt road. Then you will ride through mango orchards and fields of sugar cane. After that, it will be time for a small stop to rest by a beautiful lake and finally ride on to Khao Yai Winery and lunch at the Hornbill Restaurant complemented by a glass of wine.
You will then take a tour of the vineyard and taste some Thai wine.
Then you will only have to cycle for about 4 km to your resort for the night. The pool has a wonderful view and it’s a great way to cool down after a day of cycling.
Ride: 20 Km
Hotel: Cabbages & Condoms Resort.
Day 2 – Asoke Valley – Bangkok
Breakfast / Lunch
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point.
Today you will be climbing a bit on the bike as well as off the bike!
The tour starts by cycling on yet another very quiet road, passing tapioca fields and a rock quarry. Your climbing will be rewarded by a long downhill to Wat Tam Tien.
There you will get the opportunity to climb the 145 stairs up to a cave. After a look around to take some pictures, it will be time to get back on the bikes and ride through sugar cane fields, passing a Chinese meditation centre. Then it will only be just a few more turns of the pedals to the Prapatsorn Grape Farm.
There you will get the chance to taste their local grapes and if you have a sweet tooth, taste the candies they make from them. You’ll have a perfect view of the White Buddha from the hill. If you are up for the challenge, a walkway with 1,250 steps can lead you to the base of the statue and the views are definitely well worth the effort. After that, it will be time for lunch. Then the tour will end and it will be time to head back to Bangkok.
Ride: 18 km.
