Icheon Ceramics Village
Icheon Ceramics village is the place where you can experience to see and learn how to make traditional Korean ceramics. Also Icheon Ceramics Festival is internationally famous. It has been holding every year. Working of pottery are displayed and there are also pottery classes, potter character show, and even a parade.
Mok-a Buddhist Museum
Mok-A Buddhist Museum was established to succeed and develop Korean traditional woodworking arts and Buddhist arts. This museum has been committed to the culture business as a professional private museum since the enshrinement ceremony of Maitreya.
Icheon is known as a center of South Korean ceramic manufacture
The Icheon Ceramics Village features 300-plus ceramics-making firms in the area of Sugwang-ri, Sindun-myeon, Saeum-dong. They use traditional skills and produce porcelains in some 40 traditional firewood kilns. This pottery is recognized both at home and abroad for its quality.
The Saeum-dong and Sindun-myeon areas also include a ceramics village with many ceramics stores. Potters have researched traditional methods and revived the manufacture of ceramics in the style of Goryeo celadon and Joseon white porcelain here. The village is the center of the effort to preserve these traditions
Icheon’s ceramic village is located in Sindun-myeon. The village has grown quite rapidly over recent years and has turned into a full on complex containing over 300 ceramic art studios, 40 of which still produce ceramics with wood-fired kilns. The city also boasts a ceramic museum, places for cultural experiences where one can try making ceramics firsthand and shops where the beautiful ceramics of Icheon can be purchased at reasonable prices.
