Wae Rebo is an experience on its own; the primitive village located in West Flores, with a population of around 800 people, was first discovered by other locals around 2009. Since then, it has become one of the main attractions in Flores as an exotic place that is considered as the road-less-travelled. Located high at 1,200 meters above the sea level, Wae Rebo is home to seven tribal houses where each house accommodates up to 8 families. Most locals make their living off farming, and grow their cultivation 4 hours walk away.
Indeed, to reach the place you will need to walk up 6,6 kilometers, which takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on your stamina.
