Description

This HIGH PRIESTESS became at age 21the youngest PEDANDA in Bali.
During her powerful MELUKAT (Hindu Purification Ritual) the “Water Priestess”, as she is known now, pours large amounts of holy water on the attendants.

For decades in Bali, High Priests have always been men, elderly men (more seldom, elderly women), traditionally born in the highest BRAHMAN caste. In Bali, there are four castes: SUNDRA, lowest caste (peasants); WESIA (warriors, traders and some nobility); KSATRIA (Royal Family), and BRAHMAN (Priests and Pedandas).

And here she is: a woman! So young: Aged 21! Born in the lowest Sundra caste!
How did it happen that she became a High Priestess, breaking all the traditional "rules" of age, gender, caste!
Meet her, take part in her Melukat and ask her more about her extraordinary story...

MELUKAT, WHAT TO EXPECT?
- Aura cleansing (where diseases start),
- Purification of body, mind and emotions,
- Clearing negative energies;
- Reconnecting with one’s guides & intuition,
- Contacting one's “Inner Voice”, binding with one’s soul.

The High Priestess prays, chants mantras, performs mudras (sacred hand gestures), asking for the Spirit to be present.
She uses
- Flower offerings
- a braided bracelet (connection to one's guides and guardians)
- Holy Water (a lot, poured over you..)
- Rice to bless you with peace and abundance

INTENTIONS:
Important: ahead of time have them written on paper with your full name (folded among the offerings)
Reflect about what you want to release, what you want to achieve.
Intentions are repeated silently DURING the Melukat
INTENTIONS are what you send to the Universe.
KEY is to express them
- at the PRESENT tense
- In POSITIVE terms
- as if ALREADY happening
Example: rather than "I hope my health will get better" => "My health is strong and flourishing"

MEDITATION:
Before the Melukat Ritual, spend a few minutes in silence, relaxed, eyes closed, focused on breath, repeating silently your intentions.
MEDITATION is meant to calm down the mind, relax, center your Self. It is not attached to any specific religion nor belief system..

PRAYER:
PRAYING after the ritual is meant to express GRATITUDE for our lives, for whatever we have: a job, a family, a home, friends...
We also say our thanks to the SUN for its light, and to ALL the gods of all religions...
We guide you through the Balinese way of using the offerings and flower petals.

A visit to the High Priestess of Bali is a unique and enriching experience. To learn about her story as the only female High Priestess in Bali is fascinating. To receive the blessing and cleansing of Holy water and release all that is no longer serving you is a deeply spiritual and transformative opportunity, and one unique to the island of Bali and the approach of Ida the Priestess. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone wishing to deepen their visit to Bali beyond tourism and into the realm of personal transformation and spiritual growth.
