This not-to-be-missed tour is dedicated to all you food junkies out there. While some of you might've heard about the bizzare food options available in China, your tour guide will navigate you past those dishes to ""regular"" food items. So don't be afraid and sample local knick-knacks and learn the stories behind eats like spring onion pancakes, Sichuan noodles, donkey and mini hotpots.
Count on your tour guide to learn words and phrases commonly used by the locals and practice them on the local culinary masters, like noodle and tofu makers, and people you meet on your way. Here is also where you'll pick up knowledge among different vegetables and spices and learn the basics of authentic Chinese cooking.
This fun tour ends at a convenient spot, old Gulou Dajie. From here head to Houhai Lake area, or to move on to other districts where you can explore local bars, cafés and restaurants.
*Pick-up point is outside Gulou Dajie Metro station Exit E of Line 8. Drop-off at Gulou Dajie area.
Inclusions: Local English-speaking guide, entry to Temple of Heaven Park and historical sites inside, entry to Forbidden City, entry to Jingshan Park, subway fare, lunch.
Exclusions: Drinks, items of a personal nature, tips / gratuities for guide.
Dress standard: We will be on our feet exploring for most of the day so please make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes.
Additional Information: During national holidays and on weekend sights in Beijing can be extremely crowded. If you wish to avoid the busiest times we recommend visiting Beijing outside of these period
Closure of sites: On occasion, Tiananmen Square may be closed without notice for official visits, events, or security reasons. Should this occur please note that you may not be able to visit Tiananmen Square on your Beijing Urban Adventures tour, and we may need to enter or exit the Forbidden City through an alternative gate. Forbidden City is closed every Monday.
