Trade in the tourist sights and sounds for a quieter experience with this tour. You'll be transported to the outskirts of Siem Reap by a remork (Cambodian tuk tuk), and to the Tonle Sap Lake. This lake is one of the world's most productive freshwater body, which increases to 12,000 km² during wet season and shrinks to 2,500 km².
Because of how large a surface area the water covers, it welcomes a swam of fishes, which in-turn invites flocks of water birds. Fun fact: This ecosystem was classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997. So hop on a boat, and tour the fishing villages built on stilts as you observe their way of life.
Transfer back to a remork, so you can enjoy the road of Siem Reap and experience seasonal agricultural activities like cricket catching, rice planting and harvesting, smoking fish, fish paste (prohoc making), and duck farming. Continue your adventure as you stop at a village to feast on local snacks, and visit a Buddhist monastery before you call it a day.
